Senior Parents - Please Read This!
Dear Parents of Orchestra, Color Guard, and Band Seniors,

Start working on the traditional end-of-the-year poster to celebrate your senior! Senior posters will be displayed in the PCPA lobby for the final concerts (Orchestra on June 1, Band on June 2) and Band Awards Night (June 3) for all to enjoy.

Parents do all kinds of different things on these posters. Some ideas are listed below:
  • Here is a link to view an album of senior posters from a few of years ago:
  • Show a retrospective of your senior with pictures as far back as baby pictures.
  • Add pictures from your student's 4 years in the music program. Go to the PHSMB Flickr album for some great photos:
  • Display your student's interests, hobbies, and awards throughout their years.
  • Tell what they will be doing after graduation, such as college, military, or trade schools.
  • Use scrapbooking stickers to "spice it up".
  • Posters can be any size or color (20"x30", 18"x24", 16"x20"), but foam core poster boards are best (not floppy). You can find them at Michaels.

Poway Real Estate Professionals are BIG PHS Music Supporters!

The Poway High School Music Boosters would like to thank the Poway Real Estate Professionals for their generous donation. With the funds donated this year PHSMB is able to buy 2 vital tools in the instrumental music program at Poway High. The first is a Dr. Beat metronome (a device used by the marching band to keep time while learning their drill). It can be heard across an entire football field. The second tool purchased with this donation is Finale, a type of composition software that allows all of the music programs (orchestra, choir, jazz, marching band, musical) at PHS to create, edit and publish music scores used in their performances.

Every year the PUSD music programs must raise hundreds of thousands of dollars that the district does not provide in order for our community's kids to have a first class musical education. If it were not for the generous donations of organizations like Poway Real Estate Professionals, these kids' dreams would be left behind. PHSMB is truly grateful for this generous gift from PREP and all charitable donations that they receive. The parents, students and teachers would like to thank them for their generosity.
