Marching in the RB 4th of July Parade? Please Read This!

All students participating in the RB 4th of July Parade must complete the Confidential Medical Information Release Form for Co-Curricular Activity (Form A, updated June 2016) and return it at parade practice on July 2nd. If they don't submit the updated Form A, they can not march in the parade.

Students who will be carrying an epi-pen, inhaler, or any other medication, MUST have an Authorization to Carry Medicationform Form (Form B) on file, AND it must be signed by the physician.

All Forms can be given to Melissa Martinez at the July 2nd rehearsal. Please do not scan or email them. They need to be a hard copy.

If you have any questions please contact Melissa Martinez at 858-229-7267 or melissamqmartinez@gmail.com.

Click here for more information about the parade, including rehearsals, call time, and parade dress code.

"Welcome Back" Emerald Brigade Picnic
Saturday, July 30, 2016
11:30 AM Set-up Time, 12:00 PM Picnic Time
Lake Poway

The PHS Music Boosters along with your 2016 Band Leadership will be hosting the 4th Annual "Welcome Back" Emerald Brigade Picnic on Saturday, July 30 at Lake Poway. Look for the "PHS BAND" signs when you get to the lake. All Band & Color Guard members AND their families are invited to this celebration of the upcoming marching season. This is a great opportunity for incoming freshmen to meet their section leaders and have their burning questions about band camp answered.

This FAMILY event is a potluck-style picnic. Bring chairs, blankets, pop-ups, and a dish to share (see section assignments below):
  • Burgers, hot dogs, condiments, and paper goods will be provided by the Boosters
  • All other picnic items will be "potluck":
    • Desserts: Percussion/Color Guard
    • Side Dishes: Woodwinds
    • Drinks (12-oz cans or single-serving bottles) & Ice/Coolers: Brass
It is strongly recommended that you RSVP to Melissa Martinez at melissamqmartinez@gmail.com with a headcount if you plan to attend. She needs to plan the quantities of burgers and dogs to purchase.

Poway Real Estate Professionals are BIG PHS Music Supporters!

The Poway High School Music Boosters would like to thank the Poway Real Estate Professionals for their generous donation. With the funds donated this year PHSMB is able to buy 2 vital tools in the instrumental music program at Poway High. The first is a Dr. Beat metronome (a device used by the marching band to keep time while learning their drill). It can be heard across an entire football field. The second tool purchased with this donation is Finale, a type of composition software that allows all of the music programs (orchestra, choir, jazz, marching band, musical) at PHS to create, edit and publish music scores used in their performances.

Every year the PUSD music programs must raise hundreds of thousands of dollars that the district does not provide in order for our community's kids to have a first class musical education. If it were not for the generous donations of organizations like Poway Real Estate Professionals, these kids' dreams would be left behind. PHSMB is truly grateful for this generous gift from PREP and all charitable donations that they receive. The parents, students and teachers would like to thank them for their generosity.
