Welcome Band and Orchestra Incoming Freshman

Welcome Class of 2015 to Poway High! You have a lot of choices and decisions to make about the direction you will take as you embark on your high school years and we are so excited that you are interested in making music part of your education.

Joining the PHS Instrumental Music Program is a great choice. Freshmen music students have the unique opportunity to work with upperclassmen and build friendships that will last well beyond your high school years. Studying and performing music will:
  • enhance your overall academic performance (the music students
as a group have superior GPAs)
  • incorporate you into an award-winning, positive environment
  • provide community service and leadership opportunities
  • be great fun
Note that all prospective Marching Band students should sign up on their CRF for Marching P.E. and Freshman Band.

Check out this page for more information and great videos about the Band and Orchestra programs. If you or your parents have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to you becoming part of the PHS Instrumental Music Program Family.

Marching Band Recruitment Video
This video is a way for incoming freshman and their parents to understand more about the marching band and hopefully help them decide whether or not they would like to become a part of the organization. Students should know that marching band is one of the best ways to not only continue excelling at their instrument but also for making great friendships. Click here for video.
