2010 Poway Invitational Field Tournament (PIFT) Information for Band Directors

you to perform at the Poway Invitational Field Tournament on October 9, 2010.

The Poway Invitational Field Tournament (PIFT) is designed to be a learning experience for both students and directors and we welcome bands from all over Southern California to perform at Poway High School in Poway, California. Each band performs their field show for a panel of Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA) judges and receives a ranking or placement. This is the one of the first public performances of the marching band season for most of the participating bands and attached units. It provides each group an opportunity to perform their competitive field show for a supportive tournament audience. The competition highlights music, student teamwork, and an intricate display of team cooperation and discipline. The Poway Invitational Field Tournament is an outstanding SCSBOA tournament on a modern artificial marching field (football field). We welcome competing bands of all sizes and offer a welcoming director's hospitality room with delicious food. This year we will have a special performance by San Diego State University's Marching Aztecs. If you will be joining us from outside of San Diego County, we invite your students and their families to visit San Diego attractions such as Sea World, Wild Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Beaches, Legoland, Seals at La Jolla Children's pool, Old Poway Park (Train Song Festival 10/9), Kumeyaay-Ipai Interpretive Center at Pauwai (Poway). Judging Criteria is as follows:
*** 2010 PIFT Registration For your convenience, the three SCSBOA registration forms for PIFT may now be filled out online: Completed registration forms and tournament fees ($200) are due by September 15, 2010, or earlier, to assist us in planning for a great event. Note that SCSBOA registration forms are also available below as PDFs and can be filled out and mailed in if that is your preference.
